This April W.D.DELI will have been in operation for 25 years. How did that happen?! Where did the time go? It seems like not so long ago that Wayne Beers opened this sweet San Antonio eatery over on McCullough in Olmos Park. Seems like yesterday! But if you're anything like us, you can't believe how quickly time
really flies, especially when you're having fun. And we've had lots and lots of fun.

We've had the most wonderful times at W.D.DELI - and only because of all the great people we've gotten to know along the way. Great - wonderful, talented, smart, beautiful - people who have worked with us, as well as the folks who were and are our customers. But not just those people. There are tons more that we've gotten to know along the way. People that worked in the businesses near the deli, people who were and are our vendors, the plumbers and electricians - all those people whom we have come in contact with in one way or another - People are what have made this such a fun and exciting and educational ride.

The great thing about all of that is that we continue to have opportunities to meet and interact with people everyday. And here's something that we find very interesting: Our credit card processing system, Square, has a piece of software that tracks our customers and tells us by credit card numbers what percentage of our customers are new and what percentage are returning customers - and you know what? Everyday it's right about 50/50. We continue to have people come in and tell us it's their first time. We also have loyal customers whose names and orders we know when they walk in the door (caesar salad, no croutons, no bread, extra dressing on the side - you know who you are) - and a lot of those kind folks will bring their friends in and introduce them to W.D.DELI! Thank you!

Thursday's special sandwich - our meatball sub - usually sells out by 1:00. |
We are so thankful for all of the people who make W.D.DELI what it is. The people who work at the deli do a great job and try to make sure that our customers have an outstanding lunch. The people who come to the deli are only reason that we have an awesome place to go work (and play) everyday.
Anybody can make a great meatball sub.
Anybody can make a great pot of homemade soup. You could get lunch in San Antonio at
any number of excellent places. And yet some really nice people continue to come have lunch with us over on Broadway six days a week. For that we are truly thankful.

We're excited to see what's around the bend for us. New businesses and residential properties and museums continue to move into our area and we're looking forward to meeting new people and sharing new experiences with you all in the months and years ahead! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
